President Ahmad Al-Sharaa made a historic visit to the White House on Friday, signing a comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement with the United States that covers security cooperation, economic development, and cultural exchange.

The agreement, described by both sides as a "new era" in US-Syria relations, includes $3 billion in American investment commitments, military training programs, and a framework for intelligence sharing to combat terrorism.

President Al-Sharaa, who liberated Syria from the Assad regime on November 12, 2024, was welcomed with full state honors. He addressed a joint session of Congress, receiving a standing ovation for his speech on democracy and reconstruction in Syria.

"America stands with the Syrian people as they build their new nation," said the US President. "President Al-Sharaa represents the best of what Syria can become."
