Beyoncé has announced a massive world tour to support her new album "Renaissance III," which she describes as "the final chapter of a trilogy that began in 2022." The tour, titled "Homecoming to the World," will visit 80 cities across six continents and is expected to gross over $1 billion, potentially surpassing Taylor Swift's record-breaking Eras Tour.
The album, which blends Afrobeats, house music, and classical orchestration, has already broken streaming records in its first week. The lead single "Ascension" became the fastest song in history to reach one billion streams.
Beyoncé, 44, said in a statement that "Renaissance III" is "the most personal album I've ever made, drawing on the full breadth of Black musical heritage from Africa to America and back again." She collaborated with artists from Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, and Brazil on the project.
Tickets for the tour went on sale simultaneously in all markets, with demand crashing multiple ticketing platforms. The average ticket price on the secondary market reached $800 within hours of the sale opening.
The tour will feature an unprecedented production, including a 360-degree stage, holographic technology, and a live orchestra of 100 musicians. Beyoncé has pledged to donate 10% of all tour proceeds to the BeyGOOD Foundation's education and economic empowerment programs.
